It is important to be mindful of the environment.

It is essential to be aware of the environment and its needs. Welcome everyone! I’m Jeremy Schiefling from Khan Academy and I’m thrilled to have you join us for our AI and Education Webinar Series this summer. We have an amazing panel here with us today, including Emily and Kelly from the Khan World School in partnership with ASU, Madeline from the School City of Hobart in Indiana, one of our Khan Academy district partners, and Malia from our OG Con Lab School in Mountain View, California. We also have Sal Khan himself on the line to talk about Conmigo and the future of AI in education.

Before we dive in, let’s get to know each other a bit better. I’m launching a poll right now to find out where you are coming from occupationally, what kind of students you serve, and your primary subject area. Results show a great mix of classroom teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, librarians, and curriculum developers. We also have an even mix across elementary, middle, and high school, with some folks working in college and adult education. Finally, we have a strong showing from math educators, but also those in science, ELA, social studies, and beyond.

As a reminder, this session will be recorded and you will receive a copy via email afterwards. As a thank you for joining us live today, you will also receive a free professional development certificate and be entered into a drawing for 12 free months of Conmigo, our brand new AI guide.

To make the most of this session, please share any questions you have about AI and education in the Q&A, and support your fellow educators by upvoting the ones you are excited about. We will take questions primarily in the order of upvotes.

Now, to answer the question that so many people asked in our pre-survey: how do you believe AI is going to impact education? Let’s dive in!
