You might not expect whales to have nipples, but they do! Just like humans, they have two nipples on their chest, but manatees have theirs closer to their pectoral fins, and whales and dolphins have theirs hidden away in memory slits on their undersides. Baby dolphins know to look for the mammary slits, which are lighter in color, to find their mother’s nipples. To get the milk flowing, the baby will massage the mammary slits with its forehead. Whales can even use their tail to stretch out their memory glands and get the milk going.
