Happy Thursday everyone! 🎉 Henry here saying thank you for joining us for another Wisecrack Live! We’ll have Mike with us in just a moment, until then don’t forget to like the stream. Good to see so many green names already! I heard Nelson giving out some gifts earlier, so I look forward to seeing what we go through today. There’s a lot of funny stuff happening in the news. Thank you!

The beginning begins now! 🤩 Very generous of Nelson for those memberships, thank you! Hey what’s up everyone, welcome to Wisecrack Live! Oh no, I didn’t turn off this light in the kitchen that I normally turn off before we start, so I think that means the stream’s going to be ruined. Most important question, let’s just start with this: Adam H asked, “Where is this Henry? Are you going to the Whiskey Tribe event?”

I am not, okay cool. I have no idea what that is. But all I know now is that Henry is not going, so there you go! Someone said it’s so blue. It is, I’m messing with lights today, guys. I’m messing with lights, or maybe what I’m trying to do is show you guys how I feel in lights. Let’s see what happens if I turn that off. Is that better? You’re looking warmer, less Frozen. Okay, I mean I do like to be a little bit Frozen, I’m a cold guy. Okay cool.

Um, Curtis said, “Are we gonna get a Wisecrack Edition Ocean Gate Deeper Dumb? Is that the Titanic thing?” What’s up Dirkster? Yeah, I suppose that’s one of the titles they’re running with for the rich people stuck in the tin can. Yes, yeah. Oh my God, I see that Nelson is already gifted 20 memberships. That’s a very kind thing to do, so shouts to Nelson for doing that.

And you know, if you’ve been gifted a membership and you have the fiscal means to give someone else a membership, it’s a fun thing to do. That’s all I’m gonna say, it’s a fun thing to do.

Before we really get into it, Henry, I know that you and Lux have been working on a public access show in Austin Texas. Is that shareable at this point? Is that something people can watch?

You can go to either the Austin Public Access website or they have an Austin Public Access app that you can get on your phone or your Roku device or whatever. Yeah, 10:30pm on Mondays and they rerun it throughout the week. I don’t know what the rerun times are, but Lux and I, yeah, we’re doing a sketch comedy show on Austin Public Access called “Keep it Together”.

Okay, well let’s make sure guys, let’s figure out how to watch that and let’s go hard and please do like the stream. Um, someone is commented, yeah, the reason that I went for the bluer lighting is to honor the people stuck at the bottom of the ocean. Um, you know, it’s a tough one. I don’t want to be mean. I was gonna say to honor the people stuck at the bottom of the ocean. Um, you know, it’s a tough one. I don’t it feels kind of icky. The people that this is like a media story that we’re all obsessed with. I saw one clip where an astronaut referred to the people doing that as like explorers. And I will say this, if you die as an experienced climber climbing Mount Everest, I say you die an adventurer’s death. If you die because you’re a billionaire who can pay a quarter of a million dollars to take a ride to the Bottom of the Sea, you’re not an adventurer, you are a very wealthy Adventure tourist. That’s all I’m gonna say. Yeah, there’s the element of deserved hubris, and then there’s the element of kind of just like kicking the dead horse as far as the jokes go with it. But yeah, yeah. Yes, but I’ll say this as well, it’s people. People are going to, they’re probably going to die. I don’t say that to be glib, I say that to say that it’s fun to maybe joke and think about the ickiness of it, but also like let’s be respectful of the fact that these are people’s lives. vering into an alt-right corner

So there you go: Someone in the chat said Adrian said our empathy has to start somewhere it’ll evolve and become more directed and efficacious. Yeah, and here’s why I say that as well: I think it’s important to have the ability to understand that people get smarter and more empathetic as they age and grow. And here’s what I’m thinking about now: The fact that there are things that I as a relatively intelligent, well-intentioned 17 year old would joke about that I would never joke about now (that was a long time ago, I’m pretty old). But like I think we have to have a little bit of room to tolerate people being doofuses on their way to developing empathy, and often it’s through being a doofus that people can learn empathy.

Now to be clear, what I’m not saying is like we should have empathy for people to do hate crimes like [] that [], but you know I don’t know, maybe that’s wavering into an alt-right corner.

Let’s do a poll: Is it okay to meme tragedy, yes or no? I think membership or Patreon subscriptions can be seen as a form of tipping for free content. All of our content is free, but sometimes there are things like sponsored videos, or commercials when you watch TV. If you have the money to give us something, it’s appreciated, but it’s also fine if you don’t. Thanks for liking the video! If you have longer thoughts on Danish parenting, hit us up at wisecrack live 666. Everyone, if you’re a parent or know someone who is, please send your best parenting advice to wisecracklive666@gmail.com. We’ll go through those on the last stream before we take a break.

The most ironic thing about politicians spouting off about the dangers of Communism is that Marx and Engels talk about politicians who spout off about the dangers of Communism in the first few pages of the Communist Manifesto.

Nelson, thank you for not accepting money from shady devices!

Maeve, great joke about Danish parents!

Vox watches the ads because he likes the ad reads, and people are connecting in real life over Icecraft - that’s great!

Let’s give Nelson some love for his support of this stream. We really appreciate it!

We shouldn’t be surprised that Marx has misunderstood his own ideas in his books. Marx wouldn’t want us to own the channel - he would want us to own YouTube.

And Nelson will never forget the $420 you spent on 420! A funny thing happened - when our revenue was really high one week, we had to tell our boss it was because Nelson donated $420! Nelson commented that he liked Marx’s critique of capitalism and how it affects people, and how it can be used to strive for more freedom for people. He then mentioned a comment about the happiest people in the world knowing about parenting, and how that can be linked to Marx. Nelson then changed the topic to Andrew Tate, who was arrested on charges of rape and sex trafficking, and how he is a self-hating bald man. Nelson then joked about 666, and how he had heard some metal music the night before. Joseph brings up an interesting question about the balance between saying a thing in the pronouncing something in a way that’s indicative to our native tongue or pronouncing something relative to the language or dialect. For example, saying Argentina or Argentina when talking about South America. Henry suggested making a Google doc to add wisecrack live lore, and it was made public so that people can add anything they want to remember. He also suggested pasting it in the Discord. Videos were desynced and audio was coming through clear. hers and editors want to get involved in this stream um here’s the challenge I’m gonna put out for you um I want you to come up with a way to do an ad read that’s not just like hey guys here’s a link to this thing that’s a good product and I’m getting paid to say this um I want you guys to come up with a creative way to do an ad read and if you can come up with something that I think is cool I’ll do it on the stream and you can get a cut of the ad read money

I tried something new yesterday: I ate some Schedule 35 products at a King Gizzard and The Wizard Lizard concert. It was a great time! I dosed appropriately - I took a little bit and waited an hour to see how I felt before deciding if I was going to take more or not. Joseph was right - many Americans don’t pronounce words correctly when singing Irish music.

Let’s quickly watch the Musk and Zuck video and then look at the article. I want to talk about weird dude culture in general.

Joseph asked where my relatives from Ireland were from - they are from just past the border into the North, Listowel, County Kerry.

I have a challenge for writers, graphers, and editors who want to get involved in this stream: come up with a creative way to do an ad read. If I think it’s cool, I’ll do it on the stream and you can get a cut of the ad read money. and the DJ Khalid memes and replaced them with a new kind of masculinity one that celebrates physical strength and aggression and has no room for anything that looks like vulnerability

It’s really amazing that you’ve started taking care of your mental health! I can relate to having to fight the desire to perform a “good guy persona” when opening up to someone. It’s true that there is too much psychology and exploitation of marketing these days. It’s a big topic, and this New York Magazine article by Lisa Miller dives into it. The article talks about how Andrew Tate conquered Tick Tock, replacing memes and videos celebrating physical strength and aggression with no room for vulnerability. Wow, it’s amazing to watch Fight Club at 27! Los Angeles

We all have some stuff to work out, so let’s see. Christopher Love and Maeve, we got you. Logan suggests that Lost Millennials would be a cool band name if anyone starts a band.

DF1 tried to be mean, taking your comments seriously, which might not have been the most fair thing. Gabriel, thank you for encouraging me to be unhinged - I need it.

Yesterday was filming and I went more unhinged than ever. We might ask Olivia to get some of the clips, or whoever’s editing that, and maybe we can share them with you guys.

Tate’s ostentatious and outrageous masculine display of machetes, cigars, diamond watches, Bugattis and Lamborghinis, and obscene piles of banded cash is like a scene out of Scarface. On one viral TikTok, he was poolside in orange swim trunks and velvet slippers, chomping on a cigar while demonstrating his nunchuck technique.

He taunts his brother Tristan for eating sushi, saying that eating rice in a circle will make men weak, whereas his meal of fried chicken makes men strong. He then adds, “You know who eats sushi? Little [] soy boys, little [] Democrats.”

Caspism says a lot of people are obsessed with Tate and don’t understand why he says weird stuff that is mostly untrue. Logan defends sushi, and Pow Wow says “Heyo, his rice gay though.”

This reminds us of some of the Trump quotes - horrible, but kind of funny in the phrasing.

Tate’s fan base lived all over the English-speaking world and seemed to defy race, class, and religion. He appealed to rural American pro-gun constituencies, anti-vaxx and anti-mass communities, school boys in Sydney, working-class immigrants in the UK, and young rideshare drivers in Los Angeles. um idea like I don’t know I don’t know if that’s just like a natural thing or if it’s like a cultural thing that’s been reinforced by people like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson.

It’s a bummer that Andrew Tate has had an influence on some of Joseph’s classmates, but it’s a reality that we have to face. Thanks for liking the Jackass video, guys! It’s true that Tate puts forth his views on the struggles of young men, such as the fear of competition, the allure of gaming, the rise of depression and suicidality. While Tate’s diagnosis of the problem is correct, his solution of mental discipline and physical toughness to conquer the malaise is a bit absurd.

McLovin did say that some people use Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson as a defense for why they like their stuff, but Henry has never been told he’s bad as a male in a consensus way. He sometimes gets bad vibes from other men who focus on competition and zero-sum ideas, and he wonders if that’s a natural thing or a cultural thing that has been reinforced by people like Tate and Peterson. It was great chatting with everyone today! Chris Evans does seem like a good guy. It sounds like joining the wrestling team at Tate helped this kid out a lot and made him feel more popular. It’s great to see how the stream is helping people out.

Thanks for being a part of the stream today! The final poll results were 82% said yes and 18% said no. It’s been a great day and we appreciate all of you.

Don’t forget to check out the Patreon and share the stream with your friends. I’ll be going on pregnancy leave soon but the stream will be the first thing I do when I come back. And Henry, I’ll message you about possibly streaming on Friday next week.

We also have some more videos coming your way, including one from a sponsor that I think you might not like. Oops, I said too much.

Thanks again for hanging out and we’ll see you next week!
