You’re in quite a pickle: a few years ago, the king declared that your life would be forfeit unless you could triple the gold coins in his treasury. Fortunately, a strange little man appeared and performed the feat with a magical bag and a strange rhyme. In exchange for his help, you promised him your first-born child.

Fast forward to today, and the little man has come to claim his prize. You plead with him not to take your baby, and he offers a deal: if you can guess his name, he’ll have mercy. You guess correctly, and he offers you one last challenge: to guess the number of coins he has in his hand. He gives you three guesses, and you answer correctly with 22 coins. He’s astonished and you explain, “I enjoy a good riddle. Also, it’s on the back of your shirt.”
